La llista de hacktivistas és una de les més interessants a les que estic subscrit, per la seva activitat i també per la seva feina, a més és una de les primeres que vaig descobrir… Avui hi han aparegut dues notícies més que impactants relacionades amb la llibertat a la xarxa: Per una banda l’apagada d’internet a Síria (a l’estil egipci) i per l’altre i l’acusació a un usuari de Tor a Àustria.
1. Syrian Internet Is Off The Air
Looking closely at the continuing Internet blackout in Syria, we can see that traceroutes into Syria are failing, exactly as one would expect for a major outage. The primary autonomous system for Syria is the Syrian Telecommunications Establishment; all of their customer networks are currently unreachable. Now, there are a few Syrian networks that are still connected to the Internet, still reachable by traceroutes, and indeed still hosting Syrian content. These are five networks that use Syrian-registered IP space, but the originator of the routes is actually Tata Communications. These are potentially offshore, rather than domestic, and perhaps not subject to whatever killswitch was thrown today within Syria. These five offshore survivors include the webservers that were implicated in the delivery of malware targeting Syrian activists in May of this year.
2. Redada a Austria per un node de sortida de Tor
Me entero a través de la lista del hackmeeting italiano que la policía austriaca ha entrado en casa de un tipo que operaba un nodo de salida de Tor y le ha confiscado todos sus equipos. Resumiendo: el “”clásico””. Alguien compartió pornografía infantil mediante Tor y su nodo de salida fue el que hizo la petición. Él tendrá un juicio y se enfrenta a una pena de prisión de entre 6 y 10 años de cárcel si es condenado. El tipo quiere aprovechar el juicio para que sentar las bases legales de operar un nodo de salida de Tor tanto en Austria como en toda Europa. De momento pide ayuda económica mediante donaciones, pues estima que el proceso le costará unos 5000-10000 €. Podéis leerlo aquí
